The entirety of these Terms and Conditions apply where you have booked a Fellowship Programme which consists of the teaching internship in your country of choice. They apply to bookings made via our website, our brochures or via telephone and which are made with us whether directly or through agents appointed on our behalf.
In addition to these Terms and Conditions all information and data provided by Applicants and Fellows is subject, in addition to clause 11 of these Terms and Conditions to our Privacy Policy.
LRTT urges you to read these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy carefully and contact us at the earliest opportunity if the you do not understand or agree with anything in these Terms and Conditions.
All Notices required under this Terms and Conditions, or any other correspondence should be emailed to ukteam@lrtt.org or posted to Limited Resource Teacher Training Ltd, 8 Burnt Close, Grantchester, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB3 9NJ.
References in these Terms to “us”, “we”, “our” and / or “LRTT” shall mean and include LRTT Ltd and Inspiring Futures. References in these Terms to “you”, “Fellow” and/or “Applicant” refers to all persons named in your application form.
1.1. “Applicant” means the person who is participating in the Programme, pursuant to these Terms and Conditions. Once successful, the Applicant becomes a Fellow following the process set out in clause 2.2 below.
1.2 “Additional Excursions” means any optional trip or activity organised by LRTT and offered to the Fellow for an additional cost to the base cost of the Fellowship Programme.
1.3. “Booking Confirmation” gives rise to the ‘contract’ between LRTT and the Fellow.
1.4. “Conditions” means the information and terms and conditions contained in these Terms and Conditions
1.5. “Departure Date” means the date on which the Group departs to the Fellowship Country from the agreed point of departure.
1.6 “Due Date” means the day that is sixty (60) days prior to the Departure Date when the full balance of the Price must be paid to LRTT.
1.7. “Deposit” means the amount payable to LRTT to confirm the booking of a place on a Programme. The Deposit in all cases is non-refundable.
1.8. “Direct Debit” means a method of payment whereby an agreement is made between the Customer and their bank. For non GBP Sterling accounts, this method of payment shall be by Standing Order instead.
1.9. “Group” means the set of Fellows participating in the Programme.
1.10. “Team Leader” means the person or persons appointed by LRTT to lead the Programme.
1.11. “Major Change” includes, but is not limited to, a significant change in the itinerary, destination, the cost, or the length of the Programme.
1.12. “Price” means the amount payable by the Fellow to LRTT for the Programme or where used in relation to an Additional Excursion the amount payable for such Additional Excursion.
1.13. “Fellowship Programme” or “Programme” means the skills transfer-based Fellow programme provided by LRTT, including the planning, preparation, training and Excursions.
1.14. “Successful Application” means a confirmation of acceptance onto a programme, an outline of the key details of your Fellowship and gives a clear balance due and the date(s) by which further payment(s) must be made to meet the balance. We state clearly in this the items included in the Price of your Programme.
1.15. “Terms and Conditions” means the information contained in these Terms and Conditions.
1.16. “Fellow” means someone who has been accepted onto an LRTT Programme and has paid the Programme deposit.
1.17. “Fellowship Country” is the country, other than the UK, where the Programme takes place.
1.18 ”Videos” means any moving images, animations, films, footage or other audio/visual representations, excluding still images, recorded in any format.
1.19. “LRTT” means LRTT: Limited Resource Teacher Training Ltd. LRTT works in partnership with Inspiring Futures, UK Charity No: 1148464. LRTT Ltd. is a registered company No. 08467612. Address: 8 Burnt Close, Grantchester, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB3 9NJ.
2.1. When you submit a completed application form to Us, we will review the application form and either accept or decline your application. All Applicants whose application forms are accepted will receive a Successful Application email with instructions on how to pay the Deposit.
2.2. A Booking Confirmation email, sent by us on receipt of the Deposit, shall be deemed acceptance of your place on the Programme.
2.3. LRTT reserves the right to offer an Applicant’s place to another Applicant if a Deposit isn’t paid to LRTT within 7 days of Successful Application email being sent by LRTT. The Deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances.
2.4 You agree and acknowledge that the Application form and any information provided therein is true and correct and will inform LRTT in writing as soon as possible, and at the latest sixty (60) days before the Departure Date, if any of the details provided on the application form have changed. The Fellow will be liable to pay any costs incurred by LRTT as a result of inaccurate or false information supplied.
3.1 MEDICAL CONDITIONS
It is vital that all Fellows disclose to LRTT any pre-existing medical condition, illness or disability or any ongoing medical treatment. In order to assess the Fellow’s suitability for the Programme or in processing any insurance claim, LRTT may require information from the Fellow’s doctor and reserves the right to request the Fellows consent to access their medical records. Where there is a charge for the provision of such records the Fellow will meet the cost.
3.2 REQUIRED MEDICATION
All Fellows must take all necessary vaccinations or medication either in relation to their personal health or are advised requisite period before Departure Date and during the Programme and should take advice from their doctor as to which vaccinations or medication are necessary and/or advisable for travel to the Fellowship Country. LRTT reserves the right to request the Fellow provides proof that they have been vaccinated or medicated appropriately at any time and to withdraw the Fellow from the Programme in the event that the Fellow has not received all the requisite vaccinations or medication.
3.3 CHALLENGES PRESENTED BY THE PROGRAMME
You understand that by participating in the Programme you will be living and working in unfamiliar surroundings and that are significantly different from your own local work and living environment. Accommodation, food, water, sanitation and hygiene may be significantly different or of lesser quality in the Fellowship Country. In addition, the Programme may well expose you to various various physical and emotional challenges. You understand there is a possibility of violence and crime, civil unrest, war, terrorism, natural disaster, homesickness, and loneliness. By submitting your application to the LRTT you accept such risks and confirm you are physically and emotionally capable to participate in the Programme and that you do not have any undisclosed mental, physical, or other medical issues which may affect your ability to participate in the Programme in a professional and respectful manner.
3.4. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
You are responsible for obtaining and making available the necessary documents (including but not limited to full, current and valid passport and visas for all periods, countries and territories you may visit during the Programme) to enable the Fellow to participate in the Programme. LRTT will offer non professional advice and assistance in respect of visa requirements for British or EU passport holders but you are ultimately responsible for obtaining and paying for these documents.
3.5. EMERGENCY CONTACTS
You are required to provide details of an emergency contact. If at any time LRTT feels it necessary to contact your emergency contact, LRTT will first seek, where possible, your permission to do so. However, LRTT reserves the right at all times to speak to your emergency contact without your permission.
3.6. DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE CERTIFICATE
LRTT works in areas of possible interaction with young people from a range of backgrounds and experiences, some of whom are under 18 years of age or vulnerable adults. Where requested by LRTT, Fellows from the UK must provide evidence of a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate or a reference from their school. Fellows from other countries will be asked to present an equivalent certificate or reference.
3.7 PROOF OF TEACHER STATUS.
In order to participate in the Programme you must be a qualified teacher. LRTT may require Fellows to show proof of qualified teacher status or equivalent. LRTT reserves the right to waive the requirement if agreed in writing before booking.
3.8 TRAVEL INSURANCE
LRTT’s policy is that all Fellows must hold comprehensive travel insurance. You must organise, maintain and pay (unless otherwise stated herein) for an appropriate travel insurance policy for the duration of the Programme. Appropriate travel insurance must include coverage for injury or damage to both you and your possessions and also for injury or damage you may cause to others or their possessions (called Personal and Legal Liability by most insurers). Please ensure that where you intend to take part in any high risk activities organised during the Programme that your travel insurance policy covers you for taking part in such activities. LRTT reserves the right to request proof of your insurance and to deny your further participation in the Programme if we deem you to be insufficiently covered.
3.9 ACCOMPANYING FAMILY MEMBERS INCLUDING MINORS
In some instances LRTT may agree to allow the Fellow to be accompanied by a family member including minors. The Fellow is responsible for ensuring that all accompanying family members or minors comply with the relevant portions of these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to ensuring they have relevant travel documents and insurance coverage, and complying with standards of behaviour.

Although LRTT takes all possible care to accurately price the Programme you understand that there are various factors outside of LRTT’s control, such as local laws and regulations in the Fellowship Country that may cause LRTT to amend the Price of the Programme. LRTT reserves the right in its sole discretion and for any reason to increase the Price of the Programme prior to the Departure Date or of any individual Additional Excursion at any time. Should LRTT increase the Price of either the Programme or an Additional Excursion, the Fellow will be given the option to cancel their participation in the Programme or the Additional Excursion and have the relevant Price refunded by LRTT less the Deposit and any costs already incurred by LRTT, including any third-party cancellation fees.
4.4 Where the applicant has requested that a family member accompany them on the Programme, an additional cost shall be payable by the applicant. Such cost will be set by LRTT in its sole discretion and shall be deemed part of the Price.
5.1. The Applicant must pay the nonrefundable Deposit prior to receiving a Booking Confirmation confirming their participation in the Programme.
5.2 The Applicant can pay the balance of the Price by either Standing Order to LRTT’s nominated account or by credit or debit card. Such balance must be paid no later than the Due Date.
5.3. A charge of two point seven five percent (2.75%) will be added to any payments made to LRTT by credit card (a charge is not payable on debit cards).[g][h][i]
5.5. LRTT reserves the right to charge interest on any portion of the Price outstanding after the Due Date at an annual rate of eight percent (8%) above the Bank of England base rate calculated on a daily basis and in addition to recover from the Fellow any costs or expenses incurred by LRTT as a result of such late payment.
5.6 Where Payment is made in a currency other than GBP sterling or likely to result in LRTT incurring any bank charges the Fellow must pay such bank charges in addition to the Price.
6.1. If you wish to cancel your participation in a Programme prior to the Departure Date you must provide notice in writing to LRTT of your wish to cancel. Where you wish to cancel within one (1) month of the Departure Date you must also contact us by telephone prior to providing written notice.
6.2 Where a Fellow cancels their participation in a Programme LRTT reserves the right in its sole discretion to charge a Cancellation Fee, the amount of which shall be determined based on date a notice of cancellation is received as follows:
Time before departure date that written notice of withdrawal is received by LRTT and the percentage of Total Price payable by the Fellow.
6.3 The Cancellation Fee shall become due immediately.
6.4 The Fellow shall remain solely responsible for payment of the Price or Cancellation Fee. LRTT is not responsible for liaising with the Fellow’s travel insurance provider and shall not be obliged to defer payment of the Price or any Cancellation Fee until any insurance claim between the Fellow and their insurer is resolved.
7.1. From time to time, it may be necessary for LRTT to make amendments to either the Programme or these Terms and Conditions, or to cancel a Programme, after acceptance of you as a Fellow but before the Departure Date. LRTT reserves the right to make such amendments or cancellations. LRTT will notify the Fellow of any amendment or cancellation as soon as reasonably practicable and in any case before the Departure Date.
7.2 Where LRTT deems it necessary to cancel a Programme it will:
7.3 In some cases LRTT may deem an amendment to the Programme or these Terms and Conditions to be a Major Amendment, and in such case LRTT may in its sole discretion offer the Fellow the opportunity to cancel their participation in the Programme rather than accept such Major Amendment. Where such offer is made by LRTT the Fellow must notify LRTT in writing within 7 days of receipt of the notice from LRTT of their intention to accept such offer of cancellation. LRTT shall in such circumstances:
7.4 LRTT reserves the right to cancel your participation in the Programme and charge a Cancellation Fee:
7.5 Notwithstanding the foregoing LRTT shall not offer any refund of the Price to the Fellow where any Programme requires to be cancelled due to an event beyond the control of LRTT where such event occurs less than 7 days prior to the Departure Date.
8.1 LRTT SERVICES
LRTT will:
8.2 ARRIVAL IN FELLOWSHIP COUNTRY
The Fellow is responsible for arriving in the Fellowship Country at the correct time and in the correct place, and therefore making their own transport/flight arrangements. Fellows will be met by Team Leaders and transported to accommodation or to the airport where they arrive or depart on a flight suggested on a list provided by LRTT. If the Fellow arrives or departs on a flight not on the suggested list, the Fellow may have to arrange and cover the cost of their own transport between the accommodation and the airport.
8.3. FELLOWS’ BEHAVIOUR
Whilst a Programme is in progress the Fellow agrees to:
8.4. REMOVAL FROM PROGRAMME
LRTT may remove the Fellow from the Programme at any time (including during the Programme itself) if LRTT is of the opinion that the Fellow’s presence is likely to prejudice the good order, discipline or safety of the Programme, the Fellow, the Group or any third party.
8.5 EARLY DEPARTURE
If the Fellow requires to leave the Programme prior to its conclusion, for whatever reason, including being removed from the Programme by LRTT, LRTT shall assist the Fellow but the Fellow shall be responsible for the costs and arrangements of their earlier return to their home country, including any costs in relation to flights and travel to the departure airport.
9.1. LRTT makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information we provide to you. All information is believed correct at the time of such information is provided to you. However, due to the nature of both the Programme and international travel in general, Programme schedules and information provided by LRTT are subject to change and should be regarded only as a fair indication of how the Programme will be conducted. Any schedules or information provided to the Fellow will not be deemed to be binding upon LRTT and does not form part of these Terms and Conditions.
10.1 By participating in the Programme you understand that:
11.1 LRTT shall not be liable for any any loss, damage, personal injury, delay or expense (“Loss”) where such Loss is not attributable to the negligence of LRTT.
11.2. LRTTs total liability (which includes the liability of its employees, representatives or agents) to the Fellow arising out of or in connection with the Programme will in no event exceed three times the total Price paid by the Fellow.
11.3 Nothing in this clause 10 seeks to exclude or limit LRTT’s liability for death or personal injury caused by LRTT’s negligence.
11.4. LRTT uses all reasonable care in its use of third party providers of services and equipment, however we are not appointed agents or representatives of any third party providers. We do not accept any liability for the actions or omissions of any third party providers, including but not limited to airlines or other travel providers, providers of Additional Excursions or our teaching partners in the Fellowship Country.
12.1. You consent to LRTT processing data relating to you for legal, administrative, management and marketing purposes and in particular to the processing of any “sensitive personal data” (as defined in the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018) relating to the Fellow including, as appropriate: information about the Fellow’s physical health or condition in order to monitor the Fellow’s fitness for the Programme and Fellowship; information about the Fellow’s special dietary requirements (if any); and information about the Fellow’s disabilities, behavioural and other special needs (if any).
Sensitive personal data will be retained for the duration of the Fellowship. Personal data will be retained for marketing purposes, ensuring Fellows remain part of the LRTT community. Details on how to delete your data is available within the LRTT Privacy Policy.
12.2. You consent to LRTT making any information provided by you available to any third party with a reasonable need to know such information in relation to the Programme, including but not limited to those who provide services to the Group, providers of Additional Excursions, regulatory authorities, and governmental or quasi-governmental organisations. You further consent to the transfer of such information to third parties outside the European Economic Area including to those based in countries or territories that may not have standards of data protection equal to those applied in the EEA.
12.3. Where expressly consented to by you on the application form (or subsequently notified to LRTT in writing) LRTT may contact you, or disclose your personal data to selected third parties so that they may contact you, with information about goods, services and other organisations which LRTT feels may be of interest to you. You may at any time provide notice to LRTT that you do not wish your personal data to be disclosed to any further third parties.
13.1. Where the Fellow supplies LRTT with any photographs, videos, audio recording or other media (the “Works”) before, during or after the Programme the Fellow hereby confirms that:
13.2. By participating in the Programme, the Fellow hereby grants permission for any photograph or video in which they feature during the Programme and LRTT’s events to be used in any formats of LRTT’s publications, presentations, promotional materials, advertising and on LRTT’s website.
14.1. SUBCONTRACTING
LRTT may subcontract any of its obligations under these Terms and Conditions provided that the rights of the Fellow are not adversely affected as a result.
14.2. FORCE MAJEURE
LRTT shall not be under any liability whatsoever to the Fellow for failure or delay in the performance of any of its obligations hereunder where such performance is prevented by reason of a Force Majeure event
“Force Majeure” means unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of LRTT and/or the third parties we work with, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, including, but not limited to, events such as war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, unavoidable technical problems with transport, closure or congestion at airports, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, outbreak of disease or imposition of quarantine, fire and adverse weather conditions.
14.3. NO WAIVER
A party’s failure or neglect to enforce any of rights under this Agreement will not be deemed to be a waiver of that party’s rights.
14.4. SEVERABILITY
Any provision of these Terms and Conditions which shall in any way contravene the law or is deemed to be unenforceable shall be deemed to be severable to the extent of such contravention and shall not affect any other provision of these Terms and Conditions.
14.5. NOTICES
Notice shall be deemed to be received (a) where by email on the date such email is sent; and (b) where by letter on the date such letter is received by LRTT.
14.6. ELECTRONIC NOTICES AND TRANSACTIONS
You agree to transact with us electronically, including without limitation, agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. You authorise us to provide you with terms and important notices about LRTT and your transactions to an email address you provide to us or by posting notices on an applicable page on our website. It is your duty to keep your email address accurate and up to date and to maintain a valid email address and to ensure that emails we send you are not filtered or stopped by spam filters or other types of email blocking functionalities.
14.7. AMENDMENTS
These Terms and Conditions are subject to amendment from time to time. Fellows will be informed that the Terms and Conditions have been amended by email. Amendments will become effective immediately and your continued enrolment in the Programme shall be deemed your acceptance of any amendments made to these Terms and Conditions. Please see the last updated legend displayed at the top of this page that shows the last date these Terms and Conditions were updated.
14.8. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms and Conditions agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and each party agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
